December 28, 2015…Elkhorn, WisconsinGary Grolle Awarded Lakes Area 2015 REALTOR® of the Year.

What is normally a formal presentation of a prestigious annual award for a local professional organization took a new twist when Santa Claus presented Gary Grolle of the Village of Bloomfield with the 2015 REALTOR® OF THE YEAR award at the organization’s annual banquet on December 10 at Hawk’s View Golf Club.

“Gary is such a dedicated community servant, that a public hearing scheduled for the same evening as our annual banquet conflicted with his being able to attend the meeting portion of our event,” explains Denise Schultz, LARA CEO. “Gary’s wife Cheryl and co-workers at New Era Realty worked together to be sure he would pay a visit to our event long enough to be presented with the surprise honor of being named REALTOR® of the Year, which ended up being a surprise presentation by Santa himself!” (Local entertainment professional Scott Thomas Enterprises.)

The recipient of this annual award is nominated by his/her peers and voted upon by a selection committee. The criteria include being a REALTOR® for 5 years or more and selflessly serving the community as well as advancing the professionalism of the local real estate industry. Grolle has been an active REALTOR® member since 1997. “With his active involvement in the Genoa City Lions Club, Burlington Kiwanis Club Civic Band, Village of Bloomfield Board and Committees, Genoa City Joint Fire Commission, Bloomfield/Genoa City Fire & Rescue and more, Gary is certainly deserving of this award,” says Becky Merwin of The Rauland Agency, the former recipient who nominated Grolle. “When it comes to service to our REALTOR® community and LARA, he always show up, he’s always involved, and he always contributes.” In an e-mail message to fellow members, Grolle says, “I feel humble to have been selected from among the many deserving of this honr, and I thank very much those who were instrumental in making this one of the best visits I’ve ever had from Santa.”
