The ABC’s – and R’s – of LARA Membership

What do all those Membership Type codes mean?

The A-B-C’  – and R’s – of LARA Membership Types:

R – REALTOR® – A REALTOR® member with local (LARA), state (WRA) and national (NAR) membership through Lakes Area REALTORS® Association. This is the most common membership type and is also a Primary membership.

RN – A REALTOR® who has a secondary membership with LARA and state membership with WRA, but is paying NAR dues through another primary association (often in Illinois.)

LR – A REALTOR® who has a secondary local membership with LARA only, not paying state or national dues through our association, but paying NAR dues through a primary association.

DR – Designated REALTOR® – A primary REALTOR® member with a Wisconsin Broker license who is considered the responsible party for an entire office (and all the members within that office.)

DRN – A Designated REALTOR® who has a secondary membership with LARA and state membership with WRA, but is paying NAR dues through another primary association.

LDR – A Designated REALTOR® who has a secondary local membership with LARA only, not paying state or national dues through our association.

A – Affiliate – Individuals who, while not engaged as REALTORS®, have interests requiring information concerning real estate, and are in sympathy with the objectives of the Association. These members have specific benefits with the local (LARA) and state (WRA) associations and often sponsor REALTOR® member activities.

LA – Local Affiliate – Individuals who work for a company that has one or more Affiliate members. Membership is in only the local (LARA) organization.

IA – Institute Affiliate – . Individuals who hold a professional designation by an Institute, Society, or Council affiliated with NAR, that addresses a specialty area other than residential brokerage.
